Complete climate control system

Challenge accepted.
For Loods 5, we were asked to help design a climate control system for the retail area. Loods 5 consists of several industrial halls that have been connected over the years, each with its own heating system. Now that the use of the halls has shifted from industrial purposes to retail space, there was a need to provide both heating and cooling. Various options were discussed, but due to the unique construction of the halls and their location, it unfortunately proved impossible to implement a heat pump system.

Adding smartness.
For cooling, a Kampmann air handling unit was ultimately chosen, equipped with the unique KA2O adiabatic humidification system in the return air. This system cools the return air during the summer. Thanks to the specially designed heat exchanger system, the supply air is cooled in this way. In the winter months, the same system recovers heat from the warm return air. On the first floor of the halls, the conditioned air is distributed across the retail area through textile air ducts.

We keep it real.
For heating, we decided to create a central boiler room. In this room, a cascade setup of high-capacity wall-mounted boilers was installed. From this boiler room, a piping network was laid to the Kampmann indirect-fired air heaters. These units were installed on both the ground floor and the first floor. Each zone is controlled by a central controller that manages the room temperature.

Done.
Throughout the installation, Loods 5 remained open for business. Our installation teams worked efficiently, ensuring that the customers of Loods 5 were not inconvenienced. This was a significant challenge, especially considering the height of the building. The installation was carried out using aerial work platforms, which ensured a smooth and safe execution of the work.
