Active dehumidification

Challenge accepted.

Our valued customer, Star Roses, aimed to save gas and reduce humidity in the greenhouse to prevent diseases. Previously, vent windows and energy screens were used to expel heat and humid air through convection. This process can now be made more sustainable!

02

Adding smartness.

The system we implemented actively dehumidifies the indoor air through a condensation process in a cooling coil and reheats it using a heating coil—all powered by a small electric-driven heat pump, integrated into a single unit.

03

We keep it real.

By using slightly modified fan-coil units with built-in cooling coils, heating coils, and the electric heat pump, we created a perfect system that can be retrofitted into almost any greenhouse. We also added specially designed air tubes to ensure even distribution of the dehumidified air throughout the entire room.

04

Done.

With this system in place, our client is saving a significant amount of energy, as the vents can be closed and the thermal screen can remain shut, while still maintaining the ideal environment for crop growth.
