CJ Orchids.
Challenge accepted.
CJ Orchids grows only top-quality Phalaenopsis varieties in a wide range of colors. The grower reached out to us to help solve a humidity issue in their greenhouse, partly caused by the exhaust gases (CO₂) from the CHP system. They were also facing a shortage of heat, as Phalaenopsis requires temperatures of around 30°C during its initial growth phase. Challenge accepted!
Adding smartness.
By installing an additional flue gas condenser behind the existing one in the CHP system and connecting it to a heat pump installation, we were able to cool the flue gases from approximately 55°C down to 15°C. The major benefit of this is that the flue gases are now completely dry, allowing us to extract over 30% more heat from the CHP system.
We keep it real.
We are always focused on energy. We constantly push each other in the right direction and it's this energy-driven mindset that allows us to come up with the most profitable solutions. This project in Gameren is a perfect example of what we can achieve with our combined thinking power.
Done.
CJ Orchids can now dose much drier flue gases (CO₂). Previously, they had to burn extra fuel to remove moisture from the greenhouse. But now, thanks to CO₂ dosing, moisture no longer enters in the first place. The additional heat provided by the heat pump to the CHP system is also a great advantage. All in all, another achievement we can all be proud of!
